Custom Ice House Trailers

Most RV-style fish houses rattle apart on washboard ice roads or freeze up when the windchill drops. St. Croix Trailers builds heavy-duty, drop-down ice trailers from scratch with structural steel and closed-cell spray foam. Engineered for harsh Minnesota winter.

Common Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions about our build process.

How do you size the electrical system?

We calculate actual equipment loads, starting demand and simultaneous use, then review available power at your locations. Panel size alone does not establish how much power a site or generator supplies.

Can I review equipment specifications before you order?

Yes. Review proposed models and cut sheets for dimensions, utilities and installation requirements. The approved equipment list and drawings should agree before purchasing and fabrication.

How should I compare quotes from different builders?

Compare dimensions, construction, equipment models, usable layout, utilities, ventilation, installation, delivery and written warranty. Similar-looking trailers can include very different work. Ask each builder to identify the scope and exclusions.

How long does a custom build take?

Custom builds average 8–12 weeks, with the production slot confirmed separately. Design, approvals, equipment availability and complexity affect timing. We confirm estimated start and completion dates; ordering does not start an 8–12-week delivery countdown.

Can I choose specific equipment brands and models?

Yes. We review fit, availability and suitability for your operation. The approved equipment schedule identifies what will be supplied. Substitutions require review before purchasing or changing the design.
